OpenWords By insile
OpenWords is an Obsidian plugin for vocabulary memorization and word management, designed to work with the OpenText lexicon. After installation, access the plugin via a button in the left toolbar and two bound commands. Core features include generating indexes, vocabulary drills, dictation exercises, and adding bidirectional links. Word files utilize OpenText lexicons, while the memorization logic employs the SuperMemo 2 spaced repetition algorithm.
The plugin relies entirely on word files and their properties, with no external storage or answer history tracking (under consideration). Thus, it cannot perform memory curve fitting. Word scheduling is intentionally simplistic, using only previous answer records.
Upon activation, the plugin caches all words; modifications instantly sync to corresponding word files and update the cache.
Deliberately minimal search functionality encourages leveraging Obsidian’s native search capabilities.
